About Us

TRITONE aims to design, produce and validate an innovative method for the treatment, monitoring and immediate removal of contaminants in wastewater, contributing to the growth of sustainability degree in production activities and to the preservation of natural resources.

 

With regard to the blue economy section, during the operation of ship engines and auxiliary machinery oily or otherwise polluting waste that cannot be discharged in the sea without treatment is produced. In this context, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) has established that, in order to discharge the waste in the open sea, bilge water must have a maximum total hydrocarbon of 15 ppm.

Development

To increase the competitiveness level of naval operators and realise the awaited change, the project leader GRUPPO RIUNITO SBARCO CENERE s.r.l., in the field for over 30 years, will develop a next-generation ecological station capable of separating emulsified water/oil and achieving a target concentration of < 5 ppm both in bilge water and in dirty water. 

 

As a partner, IELLO will develop a digital twin of the process, that will guarantee a constant waste tracking and the scalability of the business model. 

 

Overall, TRITONE aims to mitigate and contrast the effects caused by climate change on all production activities, and specifically to minimise wastewater by supporting the waste recovery process.

Efficient recycling of wastewater coming from production environments. (through ?) the achievement of a contaminant concentration level < 5.

Digitalisation of the waste collection service for waste from production environments, focusing on ports areas. 

Supporting the building of a value chain of waste from production environments, in order to increase sustainability of production activities, to promote the preservation of natural resources and to minimise wastewater and processing waste also through their valorisation.

Details

TRITONE is a project created in partnership with Gruppo Riunito Sbarco Cenere s.r.l., acting according to the “ECOSISTER - ECOSYSTEM FOR SUSTAINABLE TRANSITION IN EMILIA-ROMAGNA” (ECS00000033) Program, funded by the European Union – NextGenerationEU and by PNRR.

 

It refers to the SPOKE 5, Theme 2 – The valorization of wastewater in production environments, with attention to “urban extration” and the implementation of wastewater and sludge management according to biorefinery approach, which includes innovative methods for monitoring microparticles and contaminants.
